Generative AI

What is Generative AI?

Generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) is a tool that uses machine learning technologies to analyze prompts, data and images and generate output, in the form of written text, voices, pictures, videos and more.

AI is not human. GenAI can do many simple and complex tasks and it can help simplify many tasks that we do everyday. But, always remember that GenAI is not human and is not your companion. AI does not have emotions or feelings. AI technology tools should be used to augment human tasks, not replace them.

Using AI

Where and how can I use AI?

AI tools are everywhere and are already being used in many familiar platforms, such as Amazon, Netflix, Spotify, Maps, YouTube, Siri, Alexa and more. Some AI tools are free to use and others require a subscription. Some common AI tools are Gemini, CoPilot, and ChatGPT.

Free vs. Paid

While some AI tools offer free use, most AI tools require a subscription. Often the free version provides basic tasks and the paid subscription provides more complex and personalized assistance. Always explore the free trials offered with AI tools before committing to a subscription.

Some AI tools are created for specific tasks, such as academic research, accounting, legal research, analyzing specific data and more. As you become more focused in your area of study and career, you will likely learn more about specific AI Tools used in those disciplines.
