Naxos Music Library
Naxos Music Library [NML] is the world´s largest online classical music library. Currently, it offers streaming access to more than 74,930 CDs with more than 1,078,600 tracks, standard and rare repertoire. Over 800 new CDs are added to the library every month. Ten Snow College users can access the database at the same time.
Grove Music Online
Grove Music Online is a dynamic online resource and the unsurpassed authority on all aspects of music. Now available through the Oxford Music Online gateway, Grove Music Online includes the full text of The New Grove Dictionary of Music and Musicians, second edition; The New Grove Dictionary of Opera; and The New Grove Dictionary of Jazz, second edition. Grove Music Online also includes access to the full text of the Oxford Companion to Music and the Oxford Dictionary of Music. Note: Grove Music Online is currently available to one Snow College user at a time.
Alexander Street Music Reference & Scores
Alexander Street provides musical reference material and a library of classical scores.
American Music from Alexander Street provides a suite of online audio recordings to support the teaching of American musical traditions including country, folk, jazz, bluegrass, Western, old time, American Indian, blues, gospel, R&B and shape note singing. Listening to the music of the American experience also brings an entirely new dimension to studies in history, music, literature, diversity, sociology, and related disciplines.
Jazz Music Library
Jazz from Alexander Street offers an extensive collection of online audio recordings to support the teaching and research of Jazz and related musical genres, including vocal jazz, bebop, acid jazz, big band music, modern jazz, and more.
World Music from Alexander Street supports the teaching and research of musical traditions from around the world, with coverage of music from almost 170 countries and over 1,000 cultural groups. In addition to an extensive folk music collection, World Music features content from a host of genres - reggae, hip-hop, rap, electronic, spoken word, and opera to name a few.
Fine Arts and Music Collection
Fine Arts and Music Collection provides access to scholarly journals and magazines that support research in areas including drama, music, art history, and filmmaking. The database emphasizes full-text content for publications included in the Wilson Art Index and RILM bibliography.
a leading provider of digital humanities and social sciences content; since 1995, its electronic journal collections have supported a wide array of research needs at academic, public, special, and school libraries worldwide. Over 500 journals from leading university presses and scholarly societies are available.
Academic Search Complete
Academic Search Complete is the world's most valuable and comprehensive scholarly, multi-disciplinary full-text database, with more than 8,500 full-text periodicals, including more than 7,300 peer-reviewed journals. In addition to full text, this database offers indexing and abstracts for more than 12,500 journals and a total of more than 13,200 publications including monographs, reports, conference proceedings, etc. The database features PDF content going back as far as 1887, with the majority of full text titles in native (searchable) PDF format. Searchable cited references are provided for more than 1,400 journals.
Credo Reference is an easy to use tool for research projects and homework. A giant online collection that searches hundreds of encyclopedias, dictionaries, thesauri, quotations and subject specific titles as well as 200,000+ images and audio files and nearly 100 videos.
Provides image and full-text online access to back issues of selected scholarly journals in history, economics, political science, demography, mathematics, and other fields of the humanities and social sciences. Consult the online tables of contents for holdings, as coverage varies for each title.
